It’s amazing how you hear the term "precious baby" from the family of somebody who is pregnant, and it’s more amazing how somebody can abort that "precious baby" and call it a "fetus." All of a sudden the life stirring inside of a mother is snuffed out in one quick horrible fashion. Why? Because of some idol the parents of this precious baby happen to be worshiping at the time - usually money, lifestyle or convenience.
All of a sudden this baby is not a baby - but a fetus. I looked up the word "fetus" in three different dictionaries. Two of them that predate Roe Vs. Wade in 1973 define fetus as "The young of an animal in the womb, or in an egg..." The dictionary that was printed after Roe Vs Wade defined it as "1. The unborn young of an animal, esp. in its later stages. 2. In man, the offspring in the womb from the 4th month until birth."
I don’t know if this is true in all pre- and post-1973 dictionaries, but it seems the newer printed versions are adding to Webster’s definition, to make it more liberal and more up-to-date with the type of era we’re living in. Adding man to the animal kingdom makes the term "fetus" more acceptable, and seems to soften the stigma of a human abortion - to just the killing of an animal.
If the aborting parent or parents have no respect for the life of their own child, their own flesh and blood - what respect will they have for your child’s life, for any life, or for anything?
We see the effects of abortion every day on the TV news, and in the newspapers. The increasing murders, rapes, school shootings etc., all stem from the fact of people having no respect for each other - no respect for life.
The Catholic Church just lost a Pope who was very conservative on the church's stand on abortion. The Catholic Church is going through some attacks by its liberal members right now, fighting for the rights to have abortions, to allow gay marriage, for easy divorces etc. There is a downward trend in Catholic church attendance, and a lack of new priests. John Paul II never gave in to these attacks, he stuck to the Word of God in the Bible.
I personally believe a priest should be able to marry. I do not see anything wrong with a priest marring and raising a family. The first Pope, Peter the Apostle, was married, and there is nothing in the Bible that says they cannot. But on all the other issues, I agree with the Catholic Church - especially abortion.
I pray the newly elected Pope (he has not been named yet at this writing) will follow in the footsteps of John Paul II, in that he will not give in to liberal pressure, and not compromise the Word of God. I also pray the Protestant churches will pick up and get more involved in the fight against abortions, easy divorces etc. And I pray that all Christian churches, ministers and priests, open up their eyes and minds, and come to realize just how many of the Bible’s prophecies have been fulfilled, especially since 1948, and study what the Word of God predicts for the future, in this end time scenario.
