Darwinism is finally starting to get its licks after 150 years of propaganda, either through the reliable tests of DNA, or just through common sense. Not only have many scientists switched their beliefs from the evolution process, to creation (or as they call it "intelligent design"), but recent surveys have shown that a majority of Americans favor teaching alternatives in school, and challenge the teaching of evolution.
For years now many so-called "well-educated" people have been trying to eliminate the teaching of creation, and the existence of a living God. Why? Maybe it’s because they are afraid to face up to the fact that someday they are going to be face to face with God, and answer for every sin they committed against their creator, in their free-wheeling liberal lifestyles.
Darwinism is the most effective way they know to eliminate any thoughts of a living God. By disproving the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, they feel they’ve disproved the entire Bible.
As Law professor Philip Johnson, author of the breakthrough critique of evolution "Darwin on Trial" puts it, "The whole point of Darwinism is to show that there is no need for a supernatural creator, because nature can do the creating by itself." The only problem is they cannot prove Darwinism - they can’t find the missing link, not only in humans, but also in animals, dogs, cats, horses, etc. When they do find some bones that are thought to be the missing link, such as the Java Man, and many others, further tests show the bones are human. As much as you read about new discoveries of bones dug up in various parts of the world, that were supposedly half man half ape - further tests end up showing it was a poor guy bent over with a bad case of arthritis, or something similar.
Many people like the freedom of believing in evolution. As Lee Strobel, a journalist and one time atheist states in his book "The Case For The Creator", "For me, living without God meant living 100 percent for myself. Freed from someday being held accountable for my actions, I felt unleashed to pursue personal happiness and pleasure at all costs.
The sexual revolution of the 60's and 70's was starting to dawn, and I was liberated to indulge as much as I wanted, without having to look over my shoulder at God's disapproving gaze. As a journalist, I was unshackled to compete without always having to abide by those pesky rules of ethics and morality. I would let nothing, and certainly nobody, stand between me and my ambitions."
Later on in his book Lee Strobel states: "I realized that if I were to embrace Darwinism and its underlying premise of naturalism, I would have to believe that: ... Non-life produces life - Randomness produces fine tuning - Chaos produces information - Unconsciousness produces consciousness - non-reason produces reason.
Based on this, I was forced to concede that Darwinism would require a blind leap of faith that I was not willing to make. Simply put, the central pillars of evolutionary theory quickly rotted away when exposed to scrutiny.
For example, naturalistic processes have utterly failed to explain how non-living chemicals could somehow self-assemble into the first living cell. Not only are there no viable theories, but none are on the horizon. Biochemist Klaus Dose, one of the leading origin-of-life experts, conceded: "At present all discussions on principle theories and experiments in the field either end in stalemate or in a confession of ignorance."
And as another man states, to sum up the whole situation: "Let me put it this way. If Darwin is right, we’re just sophisticated monkeys. The Bible is wrong. There is no God. And without God, there’s no right or wrong. We can just make up our morals as we go. The basis for all we believe is destroyed. And that’s why this country is headed to hell in a hand basket. Is Darwin responsible? I'll say this: people have to choose between science and faith, between evolution and the Bible, between the Ten Commandments and make-‘em-up-as-you-go ethics. We've made our choice - and we're not budging."
