Probably the biggest proof that the Bible is the True Word of God, is the existence of the Jews today. After all the turmoil they have gone through in the last few thousand years - they have outlasted all of their old enemies (who are all long gone) - but the Jews are still alive and well today.
Another big proof of the Bible - but far lesser known - is the "Hydrological Cycle." Not many people know what the Hydrological Cycle is, but without it, life on earth would cease to exist. It is the process that supplies water, through rain and snow across the earth.
Long after the Bible was written, people had no understanding of why the oceans did not rise in level with all the rain, and all the rivers that flowed into the ocean. They did not understand how rain was formed in the first place. But God through the prophet Amos states: "I have built heaven, My upper chamber, and established My vault over the earth; I summon the waters of the sea and pour them out upon the surface of the earth, I, the Lord by name" (Amos 9:6).
Over 2700 years ago, God is indicating how water will be drawn up from the sea, and come back to earth as rain or snow. He even gets into the Hydrological Cycle as we know it today in the Book of Job. "For He draws up the drops of water; He distills His mist in rain, which the skies pour down upon mortals abundantly" (Job 36:27-28). These Scriptures from Job and Amos are truly amazing.
The Hydrological Cycle consists of evaporation, atmospheric transportation, distillation, and precipitation. Water can be found in all three forms, solid, liquid and gas, and all three forms take place in the Hydrological Cycle. The water is drawn up from the earth’s surface as a vapor (Evaporation). The vapor condenses in the atmosphere to form clouds (condensation). The clouds are transported across the earth by winds and jet stream. Eventually the clouds can’t hold the moisture, and release it in the form of rain or snow (Precipitation). This is basically the Hydrological Cycle.
Although ancient people observed rainfall and snowfall, they had no idea how it happened, they only had some odd theories as to the process. They had no idea how the oceans did not rise above its boundaries with the rain and snowfalls. They did not know that the same water that is on the earth is being recycled back to earth.
But God predicted the process in the Books of Amos and Job. He also states in Ecclesiastes 1:7 "All the streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they continue to flow." And in Jeremiah 10:13 God states "When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and He makes the mists rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and He brings out the wind from His storehouses."
I believe the statements that God makes in Amos and Job about what we know today as the Hydrological Cycle, ranks right up there with all His proven prophecies - that prove the Bible is truly His Word.
