Creation Invented science
Many people believe that the field of science does not mix with the Bible. In fact, many people believe that the Bible teaches creationism at the expense of evolution. And many believe that science teaches evolution at the expense of creationism. It can be debated whether either of these perceived conflicts are real or imagined.
But, one thing is certain: People who believe in the Bible are largely responsible for inventing science.
About 30 years ago only 20% of all scientists believed there is a God who is controlling everything in the universe, according to author Grant Jeffrey, who also says that today the figure is close to 50%. In fact, many scientists now concede the whole idea of evolution is false. In each of their fields of study they cannot find any proof of evolution. On the other hand, they cannot find anything to disprove creationism.
So much of modern science is built upon the discoveries and innovations of people who believed that the Bible is the word of God. I found this list of outstanding scientists in the book, "What If Jesus Had Never Been Born," by James Kennedy, Ph.D. This list of scientists actually founded the following branches of science:
- Antiseptic surgery, Joseph Lister
- Bacteriology, Louis Pasteur
- Calculus, Isaac Newton
- Celestial Mechanics, Johannes Kepler
- Chemistry, Robert Boyle
- Comparative Anatomy, Georges Cuvier
- Computer Science, Charles Babbage
- Dimensional Analysis, Lord Rayleigh
- Dynamics, Isaac Newton
- Electronics, John Ambrose Fleming
- Electrodynamics, James Clerk Maxwell
- Electromagnetics, Michael Faraday
- Energetics, Lord Kelvin
- Etomology of Living Insects, Henri Fabre
- Field Theory, Michael Faraday
- Fluid Mechanics, George Stokes
- Galactic Astronomy, Sir William Herschel
- Gas Dynamics, Robert Boyle
- Genetics, George Mendel
- Glacial Geology, Louis Agassiz
- Gynecology, James Simpson
- Hydrography, Matthew Maury
- Hydrostatics, Blaise Pascal
- Ichthyology, Louis Agassiz
- Isotopic Chemistry, William Ramsey
- Model Analysis, Lord Rayleigh
- Natural History, John Ray
- Non-Euclidean Geometry, Bernard Riemann
- Oceanography, Matthew Maury
- Optical mineralogy, David Brewster
And on it goes. All of these ground-breaking scientists were Bible believers.
The man who most list as the world’s greatest scientist, Isaac Newton, had this to say "I have foundational belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired. I study the Bible daily." He also stated "Atheism is so senseless. When I look at the solar system, I see the earth at the right distance from the sun to receive the proper amounts of heat and light. This did not happen by chance."
Creationists are not scientists? Creationists invented science! Therefore, to say that creationists are not scientists or that creationism is not science is not only totally false, but it is ludicrous as well. Creationism violates none of the laws of science, but is in complete harmony with them.
Dr. Kennedy also writes, "All sorts of good things have been harnessed by modern science for our everyday use. Had Jesus never come, it is unlikely science would ever come to be. Look around and what do you see? Electric lights? An electric clock? A stereo? A television? A computer? If Jesus had never come, I strongly doubt these would have ever been invented.
"There would be no satellites; there would be no airplanes. If you went to work today, you would probably have gone by foot or horse or donkey or camel. You would not have fixed your breakfast on an electric stove or in a microwave oven, for such things would not exist. You would not have fixed your toast in a toaster. Countless other benefits of science would not exist if Christ had not been born."
